As part of its commitment to advancing inclusive digital ecosystems, partners of the Global Digital Empowerment Network (GDEN) actively engage in the Community Network Xchange – Asia Pacific (CNX-APAC). Now in its ninth year, CNX-APAC serves as a key platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative action, centred on the theme ‘Meaningful Access, Data & Hyperlocal Communities’.
This annual convening addresses persistent barriers faced by marginalised and underserved communities—such as poor infrastructure, low digital literacy, and limited resources—that hinder their full participation in the digital world. CNX-APAC promotes a shift from mere connectivity to meaningful access, ensuring that communities are not just online but are also empowered to use digital tools, information, and data to meet their own development goals.
Through CNX, GDEN partners advocate for hyperlocal, community-led solutions that leverage data and digital technologies to solve context-specific challenges. The focus remains on creating sustainable, inclusive models that enable access to education, healthcare, economic opportunity, and civic engagement.
